How Does Hibernation Get Turned Off
The most common causes I’ve come across when a computer suddenly stops hibernating are:
- You delete the hibernation file (Hibernation File Cleaner) in Disk Cleanup.
- Hybrid sleep is enabled.
- Hibernation is disabled.
Turn Hibernation Back On
- Type cmd in the Start Menu’s search box.
- Right-click cmd.exe in the search results and select Run as administrator.
- Type powercfg /hibernate on in the command prompt and then press enter on your keyboard to run the command.
