- Stop 0×2E is typically caused by faulty memory hardware such as memory modules (RAM), Level 2 Cache on your processor, or video memory. If you recently installed more RAM, a new video card, or processor, that might be the cause of your problem. Try running Windows Memory Diagnostics to see if the RAM is causing this error.
- Faulty drivers or system services can cause this problem. If the service is named in the message, try disabling it. You might need to start Windows Vista in safe mode to disable the service. If a driver is named in the message try rolling it back to a working version.
- A corrupt hard drive can cause this error. Try running check disk to fix any problems with your hard drive.
- Check for cracks, scratched traces, or other defective components on your motherboard.
