Tired of logging on to Windows XP every time you turn your computer on? This guide shows you how to set Windows XP to automatically logon a user for you when you turn your computer on.
The control userpasswords2 Command
If your computer is not automatically logging on when you turn your computer on in Windows XP there’s an easy way to make it automatically logon.
Click start, click run.
Type control userpasswords2 in the run box and press enter on your keyboard.
You should see a window similar to the screen shot below.
Select the user account you want to set to automatically logon and uncheck users must enter a username…
Click OK.
Type the password in the next window two times and click OK.
Now your computer will automatically logon with that username and password.
If you don’t want your computer to automatically logon later on follow the steps above and check off users must enter a username… and click OK.
