Introduction

So you turn your computer on and the Windows Vista Boot Manager tells you Windows failed to start and a recent hardware or software change may be the cause. Don’t panic, this can usually be easily fixed if you have your Windows Vista DVD.

This guide shows you how to repair Windows Vista and get it running again.

Repair Windows Vista

  1. Turn your computer on.
  2. When you get an error saying Windows failed to start from the boot manager like the screen shot below, insert your Windows Vista DVD and then press ESC on your keyboard to restart your computer.
