Turn on error correction in Windows Media Player to reduce skipping from scratched CDs when you rip them.
Introduction
Windows Media Player has a nifty feature called Error Correction that tries to fix errors (skips) when ripping CDs that skip from scratches.
Turn Error Correction On
- Open Windows Media Player.
- Right-click just to the left of the Now Playing tab, then point at Tools, and then select Options.
- Click the Devices tab.
- Select the drive you use to rip your CDs with and then click Properties.
- Check off use error correction and then click OK.
