Introduction
A system restore point is a backup of the Windows system files. A system restore point is created automatically every time you install software or any changes are made to the system files.
Note: A system restore point does not backup your personal files.
Create a System Restore Point Manually
- Type System Restore in the Start Menu’s search box and then click System Restore in the search results.
- Click open System Protection at the bottom of the System Restore window.
- Make sure the hard drive(s) you want to create a system restore point are checked off.
- Click Create.
- Type a description of this restore point to help you identify it later.
- Click Create again to create the system restore point.
- It will tell you when it’s finished creating a system restore point.
