This guide shows you how to manage network sessions (computers connected to your computer via a network) in Windows Vista.
Have you ever wondered who’s connected to your computer via a network? This guide shows you how to find out who’s connected to your computer and how to disconnect someone if needed in Windows Vista.
View Open Sessions
- Right-click Computer in the start menu and then select Manage.
- Click the arrow to the left of Shared Folders on the left side of the Computer Management window.
- Click on Sessions under Shared Folders.
If any computers are currently connected to your computer you’ll see a list of them in the Sessions section of the Computer Management window.
Close a Session
It’s possible to disconnect a person from your computer by closing their session by right-clicking their session in Computer Management and clicking Close Session.
Note: Closing a session will not block them from getting back on your computer. It’ll only close their current connection.
