This guide shows you how to import an e-mail account into Windows Mail in Windows Vista.

Export an E-mail Account

Note: This guide shows how to import your e-mail account settings which are your settings used to connect to the e-mail server to send and receive mail. This guide does not show you how to import actual e-mail messages.

  1. Open Windows Mail.
  2. Click Tools and then select Accounts.
  3. Click the Import button in the Internet Accounts window.
  4. Browse for the exported e-mail account and open it to import the settings into Windows Mail.
