How-to Remove Items from the Allowed List in Windows Defender

Posted By Brent Trahan On March 4, 2008 @ 10:17 am In All, Vista, Windows, Windows Defender | No Comments

Windows Defender might have flagged a program you thought was safe as being spyware. You might have told Windows Defender to always allow the program and later on down the road you realized that program is bad news after all.

This guide shows you how to un-always allow items in Windows Defender.

Remove Items from the Always Allowed List

  1. Click History at the top of Windows Defender.
  2. Click Allowed items.
  3. Check off the item(s) you want to remove from the always allowed list and then click Remove From List.

  4. Re-scan your computer by clicking Scan at the top of Windows Defender and choose to remove the item when it’s detected.
