Microsoft has made it pretty easy to legally evaluate Windows Vista before you purchase it. This guide shows you a few of the ways to evaluate Windows Vista free of charge.
If you can get your hands on a Windows Vista DVD you can install any version of Windows Vista and use it for up to 30 days (120 days if you know the [1] right trick) free of charge and totally legal.
This would be the best way to evaluate Windows Vista.
If you can’t get your hands on a Windows Vista DVD you can download a copy of Windows Vista in VHD format which is meant run as a virtual machine on your computer using [2] Virtual PC or [3] Virtual Server which are both free.
