Delay the Startup of a Service
Posted By Brent Trahan On 7.11.07 @ 7:22 am In All, Customization, Vista, Windows | 1 Comment
If your Windows Vista computer takes too long to boot up you can delay services from starting when Windows boots up. The delayed services will start a few minutes after Windows has booted up. Delaying services helps speed up the boot process in Windows Vista because there are less programs loading into memory during the boot process.
Note: This is only recommended for non-critical services. Delaying the start of your antivirus or firewall services would leave you unprotected for a while.
Note: If your account doesn’t have administrative privileges right-click Services and select to Run as administrator.
