Copy an Error Message

Posted By Brent Trahan On August 27, 2007 @ 11:50 am In All, Misc, Vista, Windows | No Comments

Introduction

So you get an error message in Windows Vista and you need to send the error to a person who is helping you fix your computer. You don’t want to sit down and type the entire error word for word. That could take forever and probably not end up inaccurate anyway.

This guide shows you how to easy capture an errors text and paste it in a word processor or an e-mail.

Capture an Error Message’s Text

  1. Click on the error message to bring it in focus.

  2. Press Ctrl+C on your keyboard to copy the errors message’s text.
  3. Now you can paste the copied text in any word processor, e-mail, or any compatible program by clicking Ctrl+V while you’re in the program or click Edit and then select Paste.
