The Command Prompt (DOS) is still used heavily by IT pros.  Windows XP has a time saving powertoy called [1] CmdHere that will open a command prompt that is pointing to a particular directory automatically by right-clicking inside the directory and selecting open command window here.

CmdHere is a built-in feature of Windows Vista and can be used a few ways.

The first is to hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and right-click in the directory you want the command prompt to point at, then select open command prompt here.
