Change the Location Windows Media Player Saves Ripped CDs

Introduction

This guide shows you how to change the location Windows Media Player saves ripped CDs. WMP can save ripped CDs in a folder, drive (extra hard drive), or a network location (shared folder on a networked computer).

Change WMPs Ripped Music Location

  1. Open Windows Media Player.
  2. Click the down arrow on the very bottom of the Rip tab and then select More Options.

    Hint: The down arrow only shows up when you point at the Rip tab.

  3. Click the Change button.
  4. Browse to the folder, drive, or network location by clicking the little arrow to the left of each folder or drive to expand it.

    Hint: Make sure you’ve navigated inside the folder, drive, or network location you want to save the ripped CDs in before you click OK.
