Learn how to adjust the opacity of gadgets in Windows Vista.

Introduction

This guide shows you how to adjust the opacity of sidebar gadgets in Windows Vista. Adjust the opacity of gadgets lower than 100% makes them see through. The lower the percent the more see through they are.

Below are screen shots of a gadget with 100% opacity (left) and each screen shot after has the opacity reduced by 20%.

Adjust Gadget Opacity

  1. Right-click a gadget.
  2. Point at Opacity.
  3. Select the amount of opacity.
