Introduction

Transitions can be added between clips in Windows Movie Maker. A few examples are; dissolving from one clip to the other, blur effect from one clip to the next, and many more.

Add a Transition

  1. I’m assuming you have clips loaded in the Story Board in Windows Movie Maker.
  2. Click Transitions under Edit in the Tasks section of Windows Movie Maker.

Note: You can preview a transition by double-clicking it.

  4. Drag the desired transition and drop it in the little box between the two clips you want to add the transition affect to.
  5. Hint: To drag a file, select the file with your left mouse button. While holding down the left mouse button drag the file to where you want to drop it. Let go of the left mouse button to drop the file.

Note: You can remove a transition by right-clicking it and selecting Remove.
